Argyll Etkins two day sale on 8th and 9th March featured the properties
of a number of outstanding collectors including the collections of Cyprus,
Tanganyika, Bolivia and Ecuador formed by Christopher Cruttwell; the Tom Todd
collection of Dockwras: the Frank Daniel collection of GB Registered mail;
the Ron Blachford collection of the Rhodesias as well as other fine properties
including Hong Kong and Treaty Ports, Brazil, Colombia and St Lucia.
The Christopher Cruttwell Cyprus collection brought many exceptional realisations
notably:
* 1353 The ealiest recorded letter from Cyprus £9,860
* 1875 Ottoman Postal Service 1pi orange - only recorded example used in Cyprus.
